Huge congratulations to Sensei Omar Kasdi on his silver medal at the 2019 International Brazilian Jiujitsu Federation No Gi World Championships! Sensei Omar stormed through his first three matches in the black belt light heavyweight division, winning all three by submission to earn a place in the finals. In the championship match Sensei Omar was behind 4-2 on points and earned a takedown in the final seconds to tie the match 4-4, before having the takedown points reversed by the referee, which handed the match to his adversary.
All three of Sensei Omar’s wins came via kimura (ude garami in judo-ese).
Shawn Griswold went 1-1 in the purple belt division and Jon Pagni fights tomorrow in the brown belt division. Good luck Jon!
