I’m very excited to announce that one of our own, Milan Kagaoan, has qualified to represent the United States at the Infantil Pan American Championships, to be held November 25 and 26th in Panama City, Panama.

This past summer Milan and her brother Kingston put in many hours on the mat, both in the dojo and in competition. In June Milan won a junior national championship at the USA Judo Junior Olympic National Championships in San Jose. This win, combined with other wins, put Milan at #2 in the national ranking at her age and weight, which qualified her for the Pan Am team.

USA Judo does not provide any funding for athletes at this level, which means the entire expense of the trip will be borne by the Kagaoan family. Round trip airfare to Panama, hotel, transportation, meals, uniform expenses, etc, it all adds up!

I’m writing to you today to ask for your donation to help cover these expenses. Your donation will help the Kagaoan family, as well as any other 510 Judo athletes that qualify for the tournament.

We do have two other athletes that may qualify for the tournament under different criteria: Kingston, Milan’s brother, and Thalia Zabal, who also won a junior national championship in June. If Kingston and Thalia get invited to the tournament, your donation will also go towards travel expenses for them and their families.

Please also share this fundraiser with your friends and family. The Gofundme website has all the tools to share it on social media, but you can also forward this email to anyone you think might be interested.

Thank you so much!
