On November 11th, Oakland Judo went to the 2018 Palo Alto Invitational tournament. Out of seven competitors, we came away with four gold medals and two bronze, including a first place for a first time competitor, Junn Kim. Congratulations everybody! And thank you to all the parents and coaches for making it a successful event. Congratulations also to Sensei Chris on his first place medal in the black belt division.
The next tournament is coming right up next weekend at City College of San Francisco. This is a well-run tournament which happens twice a year, spring and fall. It’s very accessible by a short BART ride and there is no spectator fee, so everyone is encouraged to come watch and cheer on your teammates if you’re not competing.
