Here’s a super nice highlight video of Mongolian judoka Urantsetseg Munkhbat. She is a former World Silver and Bronze medalist in the -48kg division. As you can see she favors sacrifice throws and newaza. Please pay close attention to the intensity and commitment she brings to every move – the words that come to mind are “brutal” and “nasty.”
This comes to you from the Grappling Kingdom youtube channel, which has some great videos, check them out.
In the video you’ll see her do several nice turnovers. Here is an instructional on how to do one of them.
They’re calling it a Huizinga roll or ashi sankaku garami, but in jiujitsu they call it an omoplata, which rolls off the tongue a little smoother. Anyone can use this turnover as it follows nicely into a pin, which can finish a match. In judo competition rules, not everyone is allowed to do armbars, but if your division allows it, you can crank the ude garami for a tap.
