Koji Komuro goes over some nice variations to the okuri eri jime (sliding collar choke) we went over last night in class. There are a lot of great details here if you know where to look! I will go over them again in the next class.

The collar choke (or lapel choke) and its variations form the basis for all the shimewaza (choking techniques) found in judo. Once you know the basics of the collar choke, you can apply it from lots of different positions – top, bottom, back, front, rolling, even standing (although this is hard to pull off).
